Al-Dhai and USAID Country Director discuss about transition support
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Yousef Adam Al-Dhai, held a meeting today in his office with the country director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Mrs. Andrea Tarsi, in the presence of the secretary of the Ministry, Ayman Sayed Salim, and Director of the General Administration For young people, “Mortada Hassan”.
The USAID official briefed the minister on the support provided by the Agency to Sudan within the framework of the Transition and Transformation Project for a New Sudan, and touched upon the Agency’s initiation to work with the Sudanese government in a project aimed at training 1,000 young men and women and integrating them into the civil service, before expressing the Agency’s full readiness to cooperate with the Ministry in implementing its plans and projects related to using sport to serve the issues of transition and democratization.
Presented by Dr. Youssef Adam Al-Dhai thanked Mrs. Andrea for the visit and for the USAID’s appreciated interest in supporting Sudan in the phase of transition and democracy. He provided highlights on the ministry’s plan and vision for youth issues and challenges and how to benefit from sport as a means of building peace and development, in addition to the projects it is working on with a group of partners International, and youth civil society organizations registered with the Ministry.
The Minister expressed his welcome and his ministry’s full readiness to cooperate with the United States Agency for International Development and work with it in many programs and projects, and it was assured that communication would continue during the coming period to agree on projects that will witness joint work between the ministry and USAID.
